Briar’s launch experience works without a player account, gameplay ads, public profiles, or chat.

What stays on your device

Favorites, recent games, and your appearance preference are stored in this browser. Each game stores its own records or progress on its separate game address. When storage permits, Briar also keeps a copy of game-local data on the portal’s address in this browser and can restore missing game keys from that copy. These copies stay on your device; they are not sent to Briar’s reporting service and do not sync across devices, browsers or website addresses. Clearing browser data, private browsing or browser storage cleanup can remove either copy. Storage limits or denied writes can prevent a backup; the player reports detected problems. Embedded and directly opened games may have different saves.

Basic gameplay measurements

When enabled, Briar sends aggregate game selections, successful loading, starts, meaningful play, second-game discovery, and failures. Library-card visibility is counted when at least half a card is visible for one continuous second, at most once per game per page visit. Startup timing is grouped into broad duration buckets, and errors are grouped by whether the game was ready. These counters include the game and release, not a player identifier, browsing history, email address, or gameplay recording.

Problem reports

Reports contain your selected problem category and the game release. We do not ask for your name, email, or free-text personal details. Reports are grouped by day and normally removed after about 30 days; anonymous daily gameplay totals after about 90 days. Cleanup runs daily.

Hosting and network requests

Cloudflare delivers the website and games. Like any hosting provider, it processes network information such as IP addresses to deliver and protect requests. Briar does not store IP addresses in its game counters or problem reports, and does not use fingerprinting or advertising profiles.

General-audience play

Game pages describe their themes and controls. Briar is a general-audience arcade, with no child accounts or private messaging. Please avoid sending personal information through any game interface.
